TOEIC Part7 Notice 難問対策 高難度模擬問題付き

TOEIC Part 7のNotice問題は、短いのに失点しやすい形式です。理由は明確です。文章量が少ないぶん、日付、対象者、例外条件、言い換えに正解根拠が集中するからです。

特に難問では、本文に書かれた語をそのまま選べば正解、とはなりません。むしろ選択肢のほうが自然な言い換えになっていて、本文中の小さな条件を見落とすと、もっともらしい誤答を選んでしまいます。

この記事では、TOEIC Part7 Notice難問対策として、Notice特有の読み方と、高難度の模擬問題を使った解き方を整理します。

Notice問題は短い文章ほど条件の読み落としが差になります。

Notice問題で問われるのは細部よりも条件の整理です

Noticeは「お知らせ」です。施設利用、社内手続き、営業時間変更、工事案内、イベント案内、規則変更などがよく出ます。

見た目は簡単でも、難問では次のような仕掛けがあります。

条件付きの無料や免除	誰でも無料だと読み違える

Noticeでは、全文を和訳するよりも、まず誰に向けたNoticeかを押さえます。次に、何が変わるのか、いつからなのか、例外は誰なのかを線でつなぐ感覚で読みます。

難問Noticeはこの順番で読むと崩れにくいです

おすすめの流れは次の4段階です。

1. タイトルと冒頭で目的をつかむ

   工事、変更、案内、注意、締切のどれかを確認します。

   
   

2. 対象者を確認する

   visitors, tenants, staff, applicants, members, vendorsなどに注目します。

   
   

1. 日付と条件を四角で囲む

   effective, by, until, beginning, prior to, no later thanは特に重要です。

   
   

2. 各設問で本文に戻る

   記憶で解かず、必ず該当箇所を探します。

   
   

Notice難問では、「本文に書いてある内容」よりも「本文の条件を正しく満たす内容」が正解になります。

たとえば、本文に「May 10までに登録した人は手数料不要」とあれば、正解は「Some participants can avoid paying a fee.」のような形になります。本文の語と一致しなくても、条件が合えば正解です。

日付と条件を先に押さえると、選択肢の迷いが減ります。

高難度模擬問題で実戦練習をします

次の問題は、本番より少し難しめに作っています。特に、対象者、日付、例外条件の読み分けを意識してください。

Questions 1-5 refer to the following notice.

Notice to Community Hall Users

Beginning Monday, June 17, the Eastbrook Community Hall will begin replacing the flooring in the main auditorium. The work is expected to continue through Friday, July 12. During this period, the auditorium, backstage area, and equipment storage room will be unavailable.

Organizations with reservations for the auditorium during the construction period will be contacted by June 3. Groups that booked the auditorium before April 30 may choose either to move their events to Room B at no additional charge or to cancel their reservations and receive a full refund. Groups that booked on or after May 1 may transfer to Room B only if space is still available. Otherwise, they may cancel without paying the usual cancellation fee.

Please note that Room B does not have built-in lighting equipment or a raised stage. Groups requiring these features should cancel their reservations rather than request a transfer.

Any equipment currently stored in the auditorium storage room must be removed no later than 6:00 P.M. on Friday, June 14. Items remaining after that time will be moved to the north entrance lobby. The hall is not responsible for damage to items relocated in this manner.

Deliveries scheduled between June 17 and July 12 should be directed to the north entrance. The south loading area will be closed to all vehicles except those used by the flooring contractor.

解答と読み方を確認します

1. 正解 B

本文全体は、床の張り替え工事に伴う利用制限を知らせています。料金変更や予約募集ではありません。Noticeの目的問題では、細部ではなく本文全体をまとめる選択肢を選びます。

2. 正解 C

該当箇所は「booked before April 30」の文です。該当グループは、Room Bへ追加料金なしで移動するか、キャンセルして全額返金を受けるかを選べます。Dの「required」が強すぎます。

3. 正解 B

Room Bにはbuilt-in lighting equipmentもraised stageもありません。これらが必要な団体は移動ではなくキャンセルすべきだと書かれています。本文の「does not have」が根拠です。

4. 正解 B

6月14日午後6時以降に残った備品はnorth entrance lobbyへ移動されます。その際の損傷について、ホールは責任を負いません。ここは「移動される」と「補償されない」の2点を両方押さえる必要があります。

5. 正解 A

south loading areaはすべての車両に閉鎖されますが、flooring contractorの車両だけは例外です。設問は推論問題ですが、根拠は本文にあります。all, every, noなどの強い語を含む選択肢は、例外の有無を必ず確認します。

Notice難問で最後に見るべき単語があります

Noticeでは、次の単語が出たら慎重に読みます。

• except 例外を作る語です。正解根拠にも誤答の罠にもなります。

  
  

• may 許可や選択肢を表します。mustと混同しないことが大切です。

  
  

• prior to beforeと同じ意味です。日付条件でよく出ます。

  
  

• no later than 「遅くとも」という締切表現です。

  
  

• otherwise 前の条件を満たさない場合の話に切り替わります。

  
  

短いNoticeほど、こうした語が設問の正誤を分けます。特に高得点を狙うなら、本文を速く読む練習だけでなく、条件表現を正確に処理する練習が必要です。

正解は本文の語句一致ではなく、条件の一致で決まります。

TOEIC Part 7のNotice問題は、得点源にしやすい一方で、難問になると一気に精度が問われます。解くときは、目的、対象者、日付、例外の順で情報を整理してください。

今回の模擬問題で迷った箇所があれば、そこが本番前に伸ばせるポイントです。次にNoticeを解くときは、本文を読み終えてから選択肢を見るのではなく、条件を拾いながら「誰に何が当てはまるか」を確認していきましょう。そこが、Notice難問を安定して正解するためのいちばん確実な読み方です。
